We have one of the most successful African elephant breeding programs in the country, with four calves, Victoria and Callee, born in 1999 and 2000, and Angeline and Zuri born in 2008.

One of the reasons for our success is research into the factors affecting elephant reproduction, conducted in collaboration with many institutions, including the Indianapolis Zoo, and the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research (IZW) in Berlin.
