The Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program allows our business stake-holders to redirect tax dollars to support the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium. Gifts made through this program support the Zoo's Learning Adventures, KidScience, and ZooU programs.
EITC provides companies with a tax credit for donations to the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium. A business paying taxes in Pennsylvania can receive up to $300,000 in tax credits annually.
Businesses in Pennsylvania that pay any of the following taxes qualify to participate in the EITC program:Corporate Net Income Tax
Capital Stock and Franchise Tax
Bank and Trust Company Shares Tax
Title Insurance Companies Shares Tax
Insurance Premiums Tax
Mutual Thrift Institutions Tax
Subchapter S corporations and other business entities that pay their State business taxes under the personal income tax on PA business income can now fully participate in the Program.
The first day you can apply depends on the fiscal year in which you would like to participate.
Fiscal year 2013-2014:
Submit your application so that it reaches the Department of Community and Economic Development on the first day that applications are accepted. Typically, that day is July 1.
Fiscal year 2013-2014: If your business participated in EITC during the 2011-2012 fiscal year, and you would like to renew for fiscal year 2013-2014, the first day you may submit your renewal application is May 15.
