eitcThe Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program allows our business stakeholders to redirect tax dollars to support the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium. Gifts made through this program to support the Zoo's Learning Adventures, KidScience, and ZooU. programs.

EITC provides companies with a tax credit for donations to the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium. A business paying taxes in Pennsylvania can receive up to $300,000 in tax credits annually.

Businesses in Pennsylvania that pay any of the following taxes qualify to participate in the EITC program:
•Corporate Net Income Tax
•Capital Stock and Franchise Tax
•Bank and Trust Company Shares Tax
•Title Insurance Companies Shares Tax
•Insurance Premiums Tax
•Mutual Thrift Institutions Tax

Subchapter S corporations and other business entities that pay their State business taxes under the personal income tax on PA business income can now fully participate in the Program.

First-time Applicants:
The first day you can apply depends on the fiscal year in which you would like to participate.

Fiscal year 2013-2014:
Submit your application so that it reaches the Department of Community and Economic Development on the first day that applications are accepted. Typically, that day is July 1.

Renewing applicants:
Fiscal year 2014-2015: If your business participated in EITC during the 2012-2013 fiscal year, and you would like to renew for fiscal year 2014-2015, the first day you may submit your renewal application is May 15.
