Teen Programs
Zoo U
Our Zoo U. program is designed to fit the busy lifestyle of teens, while helping them explore new areas of science and conservation in a fun and exciting way. Classes are designed to be hands-on and challenging for students in grades 9 to 12. Spring 2012 classes begin January 28th!
KidScience
KidScience is a year-long program designed to introduce middle school students to methods and principles related to conservation biology. Most students start the program in the 6th or 7th grade and return the following year. The 2011-2012 school year has already begun. Applications for the 2012-2013 school year will be accepted in Spring 2012.
Zoo Teens
Zoo Teens summer volunteer program is available for students ages 14-17. It's a great way to learn more about animals and zoo careers.
Keeper Conversations
Students in grades 11 & 12 will tour a specific animal area as they chat with animal keepers about the work they love. Space is limited for this exclusive opportunity; students must have the recommendation of a teacher or guidance counselor to participate.
National Ocean Sciences Bowl
Are you a budding marine biologist or a teacher who has budding marine biologists in your class? Then you do not want to miss this opportunity on February 4, 2012.
Project Polar Bear
Project Polar Bear is an international teen challenge sponsored by Polar Bears International as part of the Year of the Polar Bear. Project Polar Bear is a chance for small groups of teens to make a difference for polar bears by reducing greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and slowing the warming of the Arctic.
